- "Whoever seeks treatment with something unlawful, Allāh will not make a cure for him in it." Narrated by Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ṭibb" (p. 14/2) from Ibrāhīm ibn Ayyūb from al-Nuʿmān from ʿAbd al-Ḥakam who said: I heard Ibn Sīrīn from Abū Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ... and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is weak. Ibrāhīm ibn Ayyūb is al-Farsānī al-Aṣbahānī. Ibn Abī Ḥātim said about him: "I do not know him." Abū al-ʿArab mentioned him in "al-Ḍuʿafāʾ" as in "al-Mīzān." Al-Nuʿmān is Ibn ʿAbd al-Salām al-Aṣbahānī, and he is trustworthy and a jurist. But his teacher ʿAbd al-Ḥakam, I do not know him. However, Abū Nuʿaym mentioned a supporting narration from Yūnus ibn Muḥammad: Ḥayyāj or al-Ṣabāḥ ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, Ghālib al-Qaṭṭān narrated to us from Ibn Sīrīn from Abū Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "Whoever is afflicted with any ailment, let him not resort to anything Allāh has forbidden, for Allāh has not placed a cure in anything He has forbidden." This isnād consists of trustworthy men according to the two Shaykhs, except for Ḥayyāj - this is how it appeared to me from the copied version and I do not know him.
