the first: from Abū Ṭalḥah al-Asadī from him, he said: that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) went out and saw a prominent dome. He said, "What is this?!" His companions said to him: "It belongs to so-and-so, a man from the Anṣār." He said: So he remained silent and kept it to himself until its owner came to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) to greet him among the people. He turned away from him. He did this repeatedly until the man recognized the anger in him and his turning away from him. So he complained to his companions, saying: "By Allāh, I find the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) unfamiliar." They said: "He went out and saw your dome." He said: So the man returned to his dome and demolished it until it was level with the ground. One day, the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) went out and did not see it. He said: "What happened to the dome?" They said: "Its owner complained to us about your turning away from him, so we informed him, and he demolished it." He said: So he mentioned it. It was recorded by Abū Dāwūd (2/347-348 - Tāziyya), al-Ṭaḥāwī in "Mushkil al-Āthār" (1/416), Abū Yaʿlá in "Musnad" (7/308/1592), and al-Bayhaqī in "Shuʿab al-Īmān" (7/390/10704) through the route of Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad ibn Ḥāṭib al-Qurashī from Abū Ṭalḥah. I said: And this is a good isnād as al-Ḥāfiẓ al-ʿIrāqī said in "Takhrīj al-Iḥyāʾ" (4/236 - al-Maʿrifah - Lebanon), and I had disagreed with him on that in "al-Ḍaʿīfah" (no. 176) relying on the fact that al-Ḥāfiẓ said in the biography of Abū Ṭalḥah al-Asadī from "al-Taqrīb": "Acceptable." Meaning when corroborated, otherwise his ḥadīth is weak. In addition to that, "al-Tahdhīb" did not mention his authentication by anyone. Then one of our brothers engaged in this science—may Allāh reward him well—drew my attention, while "al-Ḍaʿīfah" was being reprinted, to the fact that Ibn Ḥibbān authenticated him (3/166/b) from "Tartīb al-Haythamī." So I referred back to "Thiqāt Ibn Ḥibbān" and found that he included him among "Thiqāt al-Tābiʿīn" (5/574) through the narration of Abū al-ʿUmays from him
الأولى: عن أبي طلحة الأسدي عنه قال: أن رسول الله ﷺ خرج، فرأى قبة مشرفة، فقال: " ما هذه؟! "، قال له أصحابه: هذه لفلان، رجل من الأنصار، قال: فسكت وحملها في نفسه، حتى إذا جاء صاحبها رسول الله ﷺ يسلم عليه في الناس، أعرض عنه، صنع ذلك مرارا، حتى عرف الرجل الغضب فيه والإعراض عنه، فشكا ذلك إلى أصحابه، فقال: والله إني لأنكر رسول الله ﷺ؟ قالوا: خرج فرأى قبتك. قال: فرجع الرجل إلى قبته فهدمها حتى سواها بالأرض، فخرج رسول الله ﷺ ذات يوم، فلم يرها، قال: " ما فعلت القبة؟ "، قالوا: شكا إلينا صاحبها إعراضك عنه، فأخبرناه فهدمها، فقال: فذكره. أخرجه أبو داود (٢ / ٣٤٧ - ٣٤٨ - تازية) والطحاوي في " مشكل الآثار " (١ / ٤١٦) وأبو يعلى في " مسنده " (٧ / ٣٠٨ / ١٥٩٢) والبيهقي في " شعب الإيمان " (٧/ ٣٩٠ / ١٠٧٠٤) من طريق إبراهيم بن محمد بن حاطب القرشي عن أبي طلحة.. قلت: وهذا إسناد جيد كما قال الحافظ العراقي في " تخريج الإحياء " (٤ / ٢٣٦ - المعرفة - لبنان) وكنت خالفته في ذلك في " الضعيفة " (رقم ١٧٦) اعتمادا مني على أن الحافظ قال في ترجمة أبي طلحة الأسدي من " التقريب ": " مقبول ". يعني عند المتابعة، وإلا فلين الحديث، يضاف إلى ذلك أنه لم يحك في " التهذيب " توثيقه عن أحد. ثم إن أحد إخواننا المشتغلين بهذا العلم جزاه الله خيرا لفت نظري - و " الضعيفة " تحت الطبع مجددا - إلى أن ابن حبان وثقه (٣ / ١٦٦ / ب) من " ترتيب الهيثمي "، فرجعت إلى " ثقات ابن حبان "، فوجدته قد أورده في " ثقات التابعين " منه (٥ / ٥٧٤) برواية أبي العميس عنه.
