in "Ṣaḥīḥ" (4647 - al-Iḥsān), and the ḥadīth is also found in "al-Ṣaḥīḥah" (1074 and 2525). It would have been more appropriate for him to include this ḥadīth—which meets his criteria—rather than the ḥadīth of the vision mentioned earlier, because this one has been corroborated by Wakiʿ ibn ʿAddas as previously indicated. Now the time has come to present the corroborating narration, so I say: It was narrated by ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAyyāsh al-Samʿī al-Anṣārī al-Qabāʾī—from the Banū ʿAmr ibn ʿAwf—at Lahm ibn al-Aswad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ḥājib ibn ʿĀmir ibn al-Muntafiq al-ʿUqaylī from his father from his uncle Laqīṭ ibn ʿĀmir—Dallam said: and my father narrated to me: al-Aswad from ʿĀṣim ibn Laqīṭ that Laqīṭ went as a delegate to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)... the full ḥadīth is in two large pages, and it includes the elevated saying: "And Allāh knows the day of rain, watching over you, anxious, and He continues to laugh knowing that others are near." Laqīṭ said: We will not be deprived of good from a Lord who laughs. It was recorded by ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad in "Zawāʾid al-Musnad" (4/13) and "al-Sunnah" (1120) in this manner, and by Ibn Khuzaymah in "al-Tawḥīd" (122 - 125) and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (19/211 - 214). Ibn Khuzaymah does not have the second isnād of Dallam from ʿĀṣim ibn Laqīṭ, which is found with al-Ṭabarānī without the first. Therefore, al-Haythamī said in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (10/340): "It was narrated by ʿAbd Allāh and al-Ṭabarānī in a similar manner, and one of ʿAbd Allāh's paths has a connected isnād, and its men are trustworthy, while the other isnād and al-Ṭabarānī's isnād are mursal from ʿĀṣim ibn Laqīṭ that Laqīṭ..." I said: and his statement: ".. trustworthy."
