"Indeed, among the signs of the Hour is that wealth will overflow, ignorance will increase, trials will appear, and trade will spread [and knowledge will appear]." It was narrated by al-Nasāʾī in "his Sunan" (2/212) and al-Ḥākim in "his Mustadrak" (2/7) with this wording, and by al-Ṭayālisī (1171) and from him by Ibn Mandah in "al-Maʿrifah" (2/59/2) and al-Khaṭṭābī in "Gharīb al-Ḥadīth" (81/2) through the route of Wahb ibn Jarīr: My father narrated to us, he said: I heard Yūnus ibn ʿUbayd narrating from al-Ḥasan from ʿAmr ibn Taghlib, who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. The addition is from al-Nasāʾī, and it has a continuation with him: "A man will sell goods and say: No, not until I consult the merchant of such-and-such tribe, and a scribe will be sought in a large community but will not be found." Al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs, except that ʿAmr ibn Taghlib is not narrated from by anyone other than al-Ḥasan." Thus he said! As if he did not come across the statement of Ibn Abī Ḥātim in his book (3/1/222/1235) followed by Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr in "al-Istīʿāb": "... narrated from him by al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī and al-Ḥakam ibn al-Aʿraj." I say: Al-Bukhārī narrated in "his Ṣaḥīḥ" (2927 and 3592), Ibn Mājah (4098), and Aḥmad (4/69-70) a ḥadīth regarding the signs of the Hour concerning fighting the Turks, through the route of al-Ḥasan from ʿAmr ibn Taghlib, but he explicitly stated it as a narration, and this is an important condition for the general authenticity of the ḥadīth, and specifically according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī, because it is
