It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/220) and its chain is good. The third path: from al-Ḥasan, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to me: "how will you be when you are left among the dregs of people?" He said: I asked, "O Messenger of Allāh, how will that be?" He said, "when their covenants and trusts are corrupted..." and the ḥadīth is similar. It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/162) and its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of the two Shaykhs, except that there is a disagreement about al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī hearing from Ibn ʿAmr, and whichever it was, he is a mudallis and has narrated it with ʿanʿanah. It is noteworthy that these three paths do not contain the addition found in the previous path: "stay in your house and control your tongue." Thus, the heart inclines to the view that it is an anomalous addition because the one who uniquely reported it, Hilāl ibn Khabbāb, has been critiqued as mentioned earlier, and he is not to be relied upon when he contradicts trustworthy narrators. Yes, this addition has appeared in the ḥadīth of Abū Thaʿlabah al-Khushanī similar to this, but its isnād is not authentic as I have clarified in the hundred after the thousand of "al-Aḥādīth al-Ḍaʿīfah."
