and it was also mentioned through the route of Maṭar ibn Fayl from al-Shaʿbī who said: "If he is traveling and catches two rakʿahs of the resident's prayer, he should count them." This Maṭar is unknown. And from Shuʿbah who said: I heard Ṭāwūs and asked him about a traveler who catches two rakʿahs of the resident's prayer? He said: "They suffice him." I said: This is correct if its isnād to Shuʿbah is free from defect, for Ibn Ḥazm did not transmit it for us to examine. In summary, if this and similar reports from Ṭāwūs and others are authentic, then it is preferable to adhere to the reports that contradict them, as they align with the ḥadīth of the chapter and the report of Ibn ʿUmar and others.
