and "al-Muʿjam al-Ṣaghīr" (p. 8 - Hindiyyah no. 934 "al-Rawḍ al-Naḍīr") and he added in "al-Kabīr": "so he embraced him." The other aspect of the two aspects mentioned is what Imām al-Baghawī mentioned in "Sharḥ al-Sunnah" (12/292) following the mursal ḥadīth: "and al-Bayāḍī reported that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) met Jaʿfar ibn Abī Ṭālib, embraced him, and kissed him between the eyes." I did not recognize this al-Bayāḍī, and a group of Companions is attributed to it, so see "al-Ansāb" and "Tāj al-ʿArūs," and I did not find its isnād to him. The commentator on "Sharḥ al-Sunnah" made a gross error, saying: "It was narrated by Abū Dāwūd (5220) in the section on etiquette: the chapter on kissing between the eyes, and its men are trustworthy, but it is mursal." However, with Abū Dāwūd in the section and number mentioned, there is the ḥadīth of al-Shaʿbī previously attributed to a group, among them Abū Dāwūd with the same number! There is a third aspect that is not suitable for citation, which I mention to clarify its status, and otherwise, what has been mentioned is sufficient. It is from the narration of Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUbayd ibn ʿUmayr from Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd from al-Qāsim ibn Muḥammad from ʿĀʾishah who said: "When Jaʿfar and his companions arrived, the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) met him and kissed him between the eyes." It was narrated by Ibn ʿAdī (6/220) and through his path by al-Bayhaqī, and Ibn ʿAdī said: "It was narrated by Abū Qatādah al-Ḥarrānī from al-Thawrī from Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd: and he said: from ʿAmrah from ʿĀʾishah."
