- "The Day of Resurrection is like the time between noon and afternoon." It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (1/84) and from him by al-Daylamī (4/337) from Suwayd ibn Naṣr, who narrated to us from Ibn al-Mubārak, from Maʿmar, from Qatādah, from Zurārah ibn Awfá, from Abū Hurayrah, from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) with it. He said: "The isnād is authentic, according to the conditions of al-Bukhārī and Muslim, if Suwayd ibn Naṣr preserved it, although he is trustworthy and reliable, for he informed us..." Then he narrated it through the path of ʿAbdān: ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us from Maʿmar, stopping at Abū Hurayrah with the wording: "The Day of Resurrection for the believers is like the time..." The ḥadīth. Al-Dhahabī agreed with what he said, and I see that the mawqūf [narration] is in the ruling of marfūʿ, rather it is clearer and more evident. And Allāh knows best. But Suwayd is not according to the conditions of al-Bukhārī and Muslim, even though he is trustworthy, and it is the narration of Ibn al-Mubārak.
- "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) led us in one of the prayers (in another narration: the noon prayer), and he stood up after two [units and did not sit], and he was reminded [when he stood upright, he continued and did not return] [and the people stood with him], and he continued until [when] he finished his prayer and only the salām remained [and the people awaited his salutation], he prostrated twice [saying takbīr in each prostration, while sitting] before giving salām [then he gave salām] [and the people prostrated with him, in place of what he forgot from sitting]." This ḥadīth is narrated by ʿAbd Allāh ibn Buḥaynah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu), and from him by ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Aʿraj (may Allāh have mercy on him), and there are three paths from him:
