with Ibn Abī Shaybah from Jābir: "and he mentioned to me that he was forbidden from selling them after that, and ʿUmar was very strict about selling them." This prohibition aligns with some ḥadīths indicating that a man's slave woman is freed by her child, and even though their individual narrations are also weak, they are at least suitable for testimony. Among them is what ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated (13219) from Sufyān (originally: Abū Sufyān) from Sharīk ibn ʿAbd Allāh from ʿIkrimah from Ibn ʿAbbās, raised [to the Prophet] with the wording: "Any man whose slave woman bears him a child, she is freed after his death." This isnād [chain of transmission] consists of men according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī, despite the weakness in the memory of Sharīk ibn ʿAbd Allāh, who is Ibn Abī Namr. He was followed by Ḥusayn ibn ʿAbd Allāh from ʿIkrimah with it. It was produced by al-Bayhaqī (10/346) through the route of Wakīʿ from Sharīk (who is Ibn ʿAbd Allāh the judge) from him. He said: "Ḥusayn ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUbayd Allāh ibn al-ʿAbbās al-Hāshimī, most of the ḥadīth scholars considered him weak." In another narration of his from him with it, with the wording: "Umm Ibrāhīm freed her child." It is produced in "al-Irwāʾ" (1799). Al-Bayhaqī said after narrating the aforementioned prohibition from ʿUmar: "It seems that ʿUmar (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) received information from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) that he ruled for their emancipation upon the death of their masters explicitly, so he and others agreed on the prohibition of selling them. It seems that he and others deduced from some of what has reached us and what we have narrated from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) indicating their emancipation, so he and others agreed on the prohibition
