and divorce, waiting period, and inheritance between the husband and the wife were abrogated." It was narrated by al-Dāraqutnī and al-Bayhaqī. This isnād [chain of transmission] is acceptable for supporting evidence; its narrators are trustworthy, despite a weakness in the memory of Ibn Lahīʿah. Then al-Bayhaqī narrated with a good chain from Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib who said: "Inheritance abrogated temporary marriage." And from Bassām al-Ṣayrafī who said: "I asked Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad about temporary marriage—and I described it to him—he said to me: That is fornication." And its chain is also good.

- "Do you know where this sets?" I said: Allāh and His Messenger know best. He said: "It sets in a spring of warm water." It was narrated by Abū Dāwūd (4002) with this wording, and Aḥmad (5/165) from Yazīd ibn Hārūn from Sufyān ibn Ḥusayn from al-Ḥakam ibn ʿUtaybah from Ibrāhīm al-Taymī from his father from Abū Dharr who said: "I was riding behind the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) on a donkey while the sun was setting, and he said..." and he mentioned it. Aḥmad added: "It proceeds until it prostrates under the Throne for its Lord, and when it is time for it to rise, Allāh permits it, and it rises. But when He wants it to rise from where it sets, He holds it back, and it says: O Lord! My journey is far. He says to it: Rise from where you set, and that is when faith will not benefit a soul." I said: Its isnād is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim, and he also narrated it (1/96), as did al-Bukhārī (3/318), al-Ṭayālisī (460), and Aḥmad (5/145, 152/177) through other routes from Ibrāhīm ibn Yazīd al-Taymī without mentioning the setting in the spring of warm water.
