and through another route from Ṣāliḥ: al-Jafshīsh narrated to us. He explicitly mentioned the narration from al-Jafshīsh as in the narration of Ibn Mandah. Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Iṣābah": "This is an error, for he did not meet him. The original ḥadīth is in 'Musnad Aḥmad' from the narration of Muslim ibn Haysam from al-Ashʿath who said: I came to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) with a group from Kindah, and he did not mention al-Jafshīsh." I said: It is in "al-Musnad" (5/211 and 212), and "al-Tārīkh al-Kabīr" by al-Bukhārī (4/1/274) and also "al-Ṣaghīr" (p. 7), and Ibn Saʿd in "al-Ṭabaqāt" (1/23) and Ibn Mājah (2/131-132) through the route of ʿUqayl ibn Ṭalḥah al-Sulamī from Muslim ibn Haysam with it. Al-Būṣīrī said in "al-Zawāʾid" (162/1): "Its isnād is authentic, its men are trustworthy." And it is as he said. Ibn Saʿd also narrated it (1/22) from al-Zuhrī as mursal, and its isnād is a sound mursal.

Abū Bakr remained silent. Then he harmed him a second time, and Abū Bakr remained silent. Then he harmed him a third time, and Abū Bakr retaliated. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) stood up when Abū Bakr retaliated. Abū Bakr said: 'Did you find fault with me, O Messenger of Allāh?' The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: ..." and he mentioned it
