and likewise it was deemed good by al-Ḥāfiẓ al-ʿIrāqī, and al-Suyūṭī followed him as mentioned in "al-Manāwī". It has also been narrated from Ibn ʿAyāsh in another manner, as al-Dūlābī said in "al-Kuná" (1/43): Yūnus ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlá narrated to us, saying: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Wahb informed us, saying: ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAyāsh narrated to me from ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Aswad from Abū Maʿqil ibn Abī Muslim from Abū ʿUbaydah, the client of Rifāʿah ibn Rāfiʿ, that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned the second part of it. Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned it (4/2/448) in the biography of Abū Maʿqil ibn Abī Muslim in its entirety through the path of Ibn Wahb, and he said: "I heard Abū Zurʿah say: Abū Maʿqil is not named, and Abū ʿUbaydah did not have companionship." And I did not find anyone who mentioned ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Aswad. Al-Haythamī referred to this by saying: "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr", and among them is someone I did not recognize."
وكذلك حسنه الحافظ العراقي، وتبعه السيوطي كما في "المناوي". وقد روي عن ابن عياش على وجه آخر، فقال الدولابي في "الكنى" (١ / ٤٣): حدثنا يونس بن عبد الأعلى قال: أنبأ عبد الله بن وهب قال: حدثني عبد الله بن عياش عن عبد الله بن الأسود عن أبي معقل بن أبي مسلم عن أبي عبيدة مولى رفاعة بن رافع أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: فذكر الشطر الثاني منه. وذكره ابن أبي حاتم (٤ / ٢ / ٤٤٨) في ترجمة أبي معقل بن أبي مسلم بتمامه من طريق ابن وهب به، وقال: "سمعت أبا زرعة يقول: أبو معقل لا يسمى، وأبو عبيدة ليست له صحبة". وعبد الله بن الأسود لم أجد من ذكره. وأشار إلى ذلك الهيثمي بقوله: "رواه الطبراني في "الكبير"، وفيه من لم أعرفه".
- "Among the best deeds is bringing joy to a believer, settling a debt for him, fulfilling a need for him, relieving him of distress." It was recorded by al-Bayhaqī in "Shuʿab al-Īmān" (2/452/2) through two paths from Abū al-ʿAbbās Muḥammad ibn Yaʿqūb, narrated to us by al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī ibn ʿUthmān - perhaps ʿAffān -: narrated to us by al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī al-Juʿfī from Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah from Ibn al-Munkadir, raising it to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). Sufyān said: And it was said to Ibn al-Munkadir, "What remains that is delightful?" He said: "Generosity towards brothers." I said: And this isnād is mursal, its men are trustworthy, except for al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī al-Juʿfī, whom I did not recognize, and it is possible that he is al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAṭiyyah al-Qurashī al-Kūfī, as he is among the teachers of ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥasan, and the copy of "al-Shuʿab" is poor, so if it is him, he is truthful as Abū Ḥātim said, and it is possible that he is al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī ibn al-Walīd al-Juʿfī, as he is from this generation, and perhaps he is closer, and he is trustworthy
- "من أفضل الأعمال إدخال السرور على المؤمن، تقضي عنه دينا، تقضي له حاجة، تنفس له كربة". أخرجه البيهقي في "شعب الإيمان" (٢ / ٤٥٢ / ٢) من طريقين عن أبي العباس محمد بن يعقوب حدثنا الحسن بن علي بن عثمان - لعله عفان -: حدثنا الحسن بن علي الجعفي عن سفيان بن عيينة عن ابن المنكدر يرفعه إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم. قال سفيان: وقيل لابن المنكدر فما بقي مما يستلذ؟ قال: الإفضال على الإخوان. قلت: وهذا إسناد مرسل، رجاله ثقات، غير الحسن بن علي الجعفي، فلم أعرفه، ومن المحتمل أنه الحسن بن عطية القرشي الكوفي، فإنه من شيوخ علي بن الحسن، ونسخة "الشعب" سيئة، فإن يكن هو، فهو صدوق كما قال أبو حاتم، ويحتمل أنه الحسن بن علي بن الوليد الجعفي، فإنه من هذه الطبقة، ولعله أقرب، وهو ثقة.
