ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr reported from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr who said: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) disliked for anyone to walk directly behind him, but preferred that they walk to his right or left." This was narrated by al-Ḥākim, and it has been mentioned previously (1239).

- "He had a large bowl called al-Gharraʾ, which was carried by four men." This was recorded by Abū Dāwūd (Food 17), Abū al-Shaykh in "The Morals of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)" (p. 215), and Ibn ʿAsākir in "History" (1/379) from ʿAmr ibn ʿUthmān: Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿArq informed us, saying: I heard ʿAbd Allāh ibn Busr say: and he mentioned it. I say: Its chain of transmission is authentic, all its narrators are trustworthy. Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd al-Qaṭṭān also followed it up from Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Raḥbī with a shortened version: "He had a large bowl with four rings." This was recorded by Abū al-Shaykh through various chains from Muḥammad ibn Muṣaffá: Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd al-Qaṭṭān informed us. I say: This chain is good, Muḥammad ibn Muṣaffá is truthful but has some errors as mentioned in "Taqrīb," and the rest of its narrators are trustworthy. It is similar in meaning to the first chain, meaning: it was carried by four men from four rings. And Allāh knows best.

- "He could not find enough to fill his stomach with dates of inferior quality, while he was hungry." This was recorded by al-Ḥākim (4/324) from Qays ibn Anīf: Qutaybah informed us, Abū ʿAwānah reported from Simāk from al-Nuʿmān ibn Bashīr, Simāk said: I heard al-Nuʿmān - while he was on the pulpit - say: and he mentioned it, and said:
