of knowledge and benefits before brother ʿAbd al-Mannān graciously published this book... and there is no power nor strength except with Allāh." I say: There is no doubt that his teacher, Shuʿayb, is among the elite in his view, and he stated on the same page referred to by the honorable brother that Shuʿayb benefited from him, as he praised him for reverting to the correctness of his student's opinion! Do you not see him saying: "And this is a virtue from him for returning to the truth"?! Then he hoped that I would retract like his teacher, saying: "Perhaps the esteemed Shaykh al-Albānī will return to something similar after seeing the evidence in this book"! I said: Returning to what is correct is obligatory, and it is my habit as my readers know, but one cannot give what one does not have, and how apt is the saying in such a situation: "This is not your nest, so leave it"! How similar is this arrogance to that of the ignorant one whose knowledge of his Lord is so limited that he considers Him non-existent! By saying: He is neither inside the world nor outside it, and yet; he said in some of his introductions, similar to his companion: "We only wish to serve the people of knowledge and its seekers"! "Their hearts are alike" (Sūrah al-Baqarah, 2:118). And Allāh is the one whose help is sought. I ask the Generous Allāh, Lord of the Mighty Throne, to purify our hearts from envy and malice, and to grant us beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds, and to protect us from the evil of the envious and the schemes of the deceitful, indeed He is All-Hearing, Responsive.
