- "The best of your dates is al-Barni, it removes disease and has no disease in it." It is narrated from the ḥadīth of Buraydah ibn al-Ḥuṣayb, Anas ibn Mālik, Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, Mazīdah the grandfather of Hūd ibn ʿAbd Allāh, ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, and some of the delegation of ʿAbd al-Qays. 1 - As for the ḥadīth of Buraydah, it is narrated by Abū Bakr al-Aʿyan, who said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr told me, ʿAbd Allāh ibn Sakan al-Raqāshī informed us, ʿUqbah al-Aṣamm informed us from Ibn Buraydah from his father, who raised it [to the Prophet]. It was recorded by al-Ruyānī in his "Musnad" (8/2), Ibn ʿAdī (301/2), al-Bayhaqī in "al-Shuʿab," and al-Ḍiyāʾ in "al-Mukhtārah," as mentioned in "al-Laʾālī" by al-Suyūṭī (2/242), who said: "This is the best chain of the ḥadīth." I said: Thus he said, and ʿUqbah is Ibn ʿAbd al-Aṣamm, who is weak as stated by al-Dhahabī. Al-Ḥāfiẓ said: "Weak and perhaps he practiced tadlīs." And ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Sakan was mentioned by Ibn Abī Ḥātim (2/2/76) without any criticism or commendation. The ḥadīth was mentioned by Ibn al-Jawzī in "al-Mawḍūʿāt" from the path of Ibn ʿAdī, who said: "ʿUqbah, Ibn Ḥibbān said: he narrates oddities from well-known narrators." Al-Suyūṭī refuted him with something that is of no benefit. 2 - As for the ḥadīth of Anas, it is narrated by ʿUbayd ibn Wāqid from ʿUthmān ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-ʿAbdī from Ḥumayd from him: "That the delegation of ʿAbd al-Qays from the people of (Hajar) came to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and he said: " and he mentioned it. It was recorded by al-ʿUqaylī in "al-Ḍuʿafāʾ" (291) and Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ṭibb" number (10 - al-Muntaqá)
