I said: Perhaps he means by this the completion, otherwise Ibn ʿUmar narrated it as mentioned earlier. Al-Haythamī criticized it in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (2/168) by saying: "ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Zahr and ʿAlī ibn Yazīd are weak." However, he attributed it to al-Ṭabarānī also in "al-Kabīr" and "al-Awsaṭ", and it is in "al-Kabīr" under number (366).

"If you are fasting, then fast on the white days." It was narrated by al-Nasāʾī (1/328), Ibn Ḥibbān (945), and Aḥmad (2/336 and 346) from Abū ʿAwānah, from ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿUmayr, from Mūsá ibn Ṭalḥah, from Abū Hurayrah who said: "A Bedouin came to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) with a roasted rabbit and brought with it its condiment, placing it before him. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) refrained from eating, and his companions refrained, and the Bedouin refrained. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: 'What prevents you from eating?'" He said: I fast three days of the month. He said: "Then he mentioned it." I said: This isnād has reliable narrators according to the standards of the two Shaykhs, except that ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿUmayr, as al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb": "Trustworthy, a jurist, but his memory changed, and he might practice tadlīs." Yaḥyá ibn Sām contradicted him by saying: from Mūsá ibn Ṭalḥah, from Abū Dharr who said: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) commanded us to fast three white days of the month: the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth." It was narrated by al-Nasāʾī (1/328-329), Ibn Ḥibbān (943), and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Sunan" (4/294), and Aḥmad (5/152 and 177)
