it was recorded by Ibn Jarīr in "his Tafsīr" (5/399): "Yūnus narrated to me, saying: Ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Ibn Zayd said it." I said, and this isnād consists of reliable men. However, I suspect it is disconnected, for Ibn Zayd is ʿAmr ibn Muḥammad ibn Zayd ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb, and he is a trustworthy narrator from the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim], and Ibn Wahb and others narrate from him. His father, Muḥammad ibn Zayd, is equally trustworthy; he narrated from the four ʿAbd Allāhs: his grandfather ʿAbd Allāh, Ibn ʿAmr, Ibn ʿAbbās, Ibn al-Zubayr, and Saʿīd ibn Zayd ibn ʿAmr, as they died after the year fifty, whereas Abū Dharr died in the year thirty-two, so I do not think he heard from him
