"Spread peace, feed the hungry, and be brothers as Allāh has commanded you." This was narrated by al-Nasāʾī in "al-Qaḍāʾ" from his "al-Sunan al-Kubrā" (4/4/2), Ibn Mājah (3252), Abū al-Ḥasan al-Ḥarbī in "al-Ḥarbiyyāt" (1/18/1), and Ibn ʿAdī in "al-Kāmil" (157/1) from Ibn Jurayj who said: Sulaymān ibn Mūsá said: Nāfiʿ narrated to us. In another narration from him, he said: Sulaymān ibn Mūsá informed me from Nāfiʿ - from Ibn ʿUmar in a marfūʿ manner. I say: This isnād is authentic, its men are trustworthy, and Ibn Jurayj explicitly stated the narration in the other version. Moreover, the ḥadīth has supporting evidence, some of which was previously mentioned in the second volume under number (569) and in the third volume under number (1439). As for the last sentence of the ḥadīth, it is well-known and has been reported from a group of Companions, including Abū Hurayrah and Anas in "al-Ṣaḥīḥayn" and others. They are both extracted in "Ghayat al-Maram fī Takhrīj Aḥādīth al-Ḥalāl wa-al-Ḥarām" under number (404), and Muslim added: "as Allāh has commanded you." (Note): On this occasion, I have been frequently asked about what appeared on the cover of some recent editions of the book "al-Ḥalāl wa-al-Ḥarām" by Ustādh al-Qaraḍāwī, claiming it was "edited by Muḥammad Nāṣir al-Dīn al-Albānī"! I say: This is a pure mistake, as I clarified in the introduction of my aforementioned book "Ghayat al-Maram...". The edits printed in the margin of the Ustādh's book are by his pen, not a single word of mine is included. Despite being brief excerpts from various sources, they contain many scientific errors from the ḥadīth perspective and omit the clarification of the ranks of dozens of prophetic ḥadīths, which contrasts with my style in my books, all my edits and verifications. Therefore, it is not permissible to attribute anything from that margin to me, especially since it contains much that contradicts what I have concluded in "Ghayat al-Maram," as some astute readers have noted. And Allāh is the one whose help is sought.
