In the name of Allāh, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. Introduction of the Author: All praise is due to Allāh, we praise Him, seek His help, and ask for His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allāh from the evils of ourselves and the misdeeds of our actions. Whomever Allāh guides, none can mislead, and whomever He leads astray, none can guide. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allāh, alone without partner, and I bear witness that Muḥammad is His servant and messenger. To proceed, this is the fourth volume of my book "The Series of Authentic Ḥadīths and Some of Their Fiqh and Benefits." Like its preceding volumes, it contains five hundred authentic ḥadīths. I present it today to the esteemed readers after about five years have passed since the printing of the previous volume in Syria. We were only able to print this one now, in Jordan, and it was surrounded by numerous printing difficulties, the extent of which only Allāh knows. There is no need to explain and clarify them, as not everything that is known is said. It suffices me to seek the reward from Allāh Almighty for enduring them, for He alone is the refuge and sanctuary of the believer in all that befalls him, whether in ease or hardship. For all of it is good for the patient Muslim, as in the saying of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) mentioned earlier in this series, number (147): "I am amazed at the affair of the believer, for his affair is all good. If something he loves befalls him, he praises Allāh and it is good for him. If something he dislikes befalls him, he is patient and it is good for him. And this is not the case for anyone except the believer."
