it is a mawqūf narration with a sound isnād, but it holds the status of a marfūʿ narration because it is not said based on mere opinion, and because there is another route from him as a marfūʿ narration with the wording: "The children of the Muslims are in Paradise, and Abraham (peace be upon him) will take care of them." It was extracted by Imām Aḥmad (2/326) from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Thābit from ʿAṭāʾ ibn Qurrah from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ṣakhrah from him. I said: This isnād is ḥasan, and it was authenticated by Ibn Ḥibbān, al-Ḥākim, and al-Dhahabī as previously mentioned under number (605). (Note): Al-Suyūṭī included the ḥadīth of the chapter from the narrations of Aḥmad, al-Ḥākim, and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Baʿth" from Abū Hurayrah, and attributing it with the mentioned wording to Aḥmad and al-Ḥākim involves clear leniency, as you know that their wording differs from it. Furthermore, he increased in leniency, or rather negligence, for when he mentioned it with the other wording: "The children..." he attributed it only to Abū Bakr ibn Abī Dāwūd in "al-Baʿth."

"The children of the polytheists are the servants of the people of Paradise." It was narrated by Ibn Mandah in "al-Maʿrifah" (2/261/1) in a suspended form, reporting from Ibrāhīm ibn al-Mukhtār from Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq from Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb from Sinān ibn Saʿd from Abū Mālik who said: "The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was asked about the children of the polytheists: He said: They are..." I said: This isnād is weak; Ibn Isḥāq is a mudallis and he narrated it with ʿanʿanah. And Ibrāhīm ibn al-Mukhtār is truthful but has poor memory. It is supported by what Abū Nuʿaym extracted in "al-Ḥilyah" (6/308) through the route of al-Ṭabarānī, and this is in "al-Awsaṭ" with his isnād from al-Rabīʿ ibn Ṣabīḥ from Yazīd al-Raqāshī from Anas ibn Mālik who said: "I asked the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) about the children of the polytheists who had no sins to be punished for..."
