and he mentioned the ḥadīth. ʿAbd Allāh said: Are there people here narrating it from Abū al-Yamān from Shuʿayb from al-Zuhrī? He said: This is not from the ḥadīth of al-Zuhrī; it is from the ḥadīth of Ibn Abī al-Ḥusayn. Then he narrated from Saʿīd ibn ʿAmr al-Bardʿī who said: I said to Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyá regarding the ḥadīth of Anas from Umm Ḥabībah, did Shuʿayb ibn Abī Ḥamzah narrate it to you from Abū al-Yamān and he said it was from Ibn Abī al-Ḥusayn? Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyá said to me: Yes, he narrated it to us from its original source from Ibn Abī al-Ḥusayn. I said: More than one person narrated it to us from Abū al-Yamān and they said it was from al-Zuhrī? He replied: They attributed it to al-Zuhrī! I asked: Did Yaḥyá ibn Maʿīn travel to him before or after you? - and that is because Yaḥyá narrated this from Abū al-Yamān and said it was from al-Zuhrī - Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyá said to me: He traveled to him after me. I said: It is said that he did not hear from Shuʿayb ibn Abī Ḥamzah except one ḥadīth and the rest were presented? He said: I do not know. Then he narrated from Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad ibn Abān al-Ḥarrānī who said: I asked Yaḥyá ibn Maʿīn about the ḥadīth of Abū al-Yamān, the ḥadīth of al-Zuhrī from Anas from Umm Ḥabībah? Yaḥyá said: I asked Abū al-Yamān and he said: The ḥadīth is the ḥadīth of al-Zuhrī. Whoever wrote it from me as the ḥadīth of al-Zuhrī is correct, and whoever wrote it from me as the ḥadīth of Ibn Abī al-Ḥusayn is mistaken. I wrote it at the end of the ḥadīth of Ibn Abī al-Ḥusayn and I erred, narrating it as the ḥadīth of Ibn Abī al-Ḥusayn, while it is correct as the ḥadīth of al-Zuhrī. This is what Yaḥyá said. Then he narrated through the route of Ibrāhīm ibn Hānī al-Nīsābūrī who said: "Abū al-Yamān said to us: The ḥadīth is the ḥadīth of al-Zuhrī, and what I narrated to you from Ibn Abī al-Ḥusayn was a mistake due to a paper I turned over." I said: And al-Ḥākim also narrated it from this route and said afterward: "This is like taking by the hand, for Ibrāhīm ibn Hānī is trustworthy and reliable." I said: And he was followed by Imām Yaḥyá ibn Maʿīn as mentioned earlier, so it is confirmed with certainty that the ḥadīth is from the narration of Abū al-Yamān from Shuʿayb from al-Zuhrī from Anas. As for those scholars who went to the opinion that it has no basis, as previously mentioned, their reliance was on what Abū al-Yamān initially narrated, but once it was verified and he confirmed that the ḥadīth is the ḥadīth of al-Zuhrī, their opinion no longer holds
