"O people, adhere to your piety and do not let Satan lead you astray—in another narration: speak with your own words and do not let Satan deceive you. I am Muḥammad, the son of ʿAbdullāh, Allāh's servant and His messenger. By Allāh, I do not wish for you to elevate me above the position that Allāh has assigned to me." Narrated by Imām Aḥmad (3/153, 241, 249) and al-Bayhaqī in "Dalāʾil al-Nubuwwah" (3/113/2) through various chains from Ḥammād ibn Salamah from Thābit from Anas ibn Mālik: A man said, "O Muḥammad! O our master and the son of our master! The best of us and the son of the best of us!" The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) then mentioned it, and the context and the other narration are from Aḥmad, and it is also in Ibn Ḥibbān (2118 - Mawārid al-Ẓamʾān). I say: Its chain of transmission is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim. It was also narrated by ʿAbd ibn Ḥumayd in "Al-Muntakhab min al-Musnad" (143/2), Ibn Mandah in "Al-Tawḥīd" (p. 63/1), and al-Ḍiyāʾ al-Maqdisī in "Al-Aḥādīth al-Mukhtārah" (26/1).

- "Whoever does not face the qiblah nor turn his back to it while relieving himself will have a good deed recorded for him and a sin erased."
