these are his Companions (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) who are testified to be virtuous, especially the ten who were given glad tidings of Paradise. They served themselves, and not one of them was served by others to a tenth of the extent that those individuals are served by their students and followers! how is it, then, when they have no text for that? Therefore, I say: this analogy is fundamentally flawed. May Allāh guide us all to the path of humility and righteousness.

Whoever grants respite to an insolvent person has charity for each day before the debt is due. When the debt becomes due and he grants respite, he has double the charity for each day. It was narrated by Aḥmad (5/360) from Sulaymān ibn Buraydah from his father, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: Whoever grants respite to an insolvent person has charity for each day like it, then I heard him say: Whoever grants respite to an insolvent person has charity for each day like it. I said: I heard you, O Messenger of Allāh, say: Whoever grants respite to an insolvent person has charity for each day like it, then I heard you say: Whoever grants respite to an insolvent person has double the charity for each day. He said: He has charity for each day before the debt is due, and when the debt becomes due and he grants respite, he has double the charity for each day. I said: Its isnād is authentic, its narrators are trustworthy and relied upon in "Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim."
