ʿĪsá ibn Yūnus disagreed with him, saying: from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah from his father from Ibn ʿUmar as a marfūʿ narration with it. It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī, who said: "Both are not preserved," and Allāh knows best. Then Ibn Saʿd narrated it (9/191) from Ibn Jurayj from ʿUthmān ibn Abī Sulaymān from Nāfiʿ ibn Jubayr ibn Muṭʿim, who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it, saying: Abū Bakr dyed with henna and katam, and ʿUmar dyed, and his dye was intense, and ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān dyed yellow. It was said to Nāfiʿ ibn Jubayr: and the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)? He said: He used to touch the musk. Among the paths referred to by al-Tirmidhī from Abū Hurayrah is what is found in the two Shaykhs and others from them as a marfūʿ narration with the wording: "The Jews and Christians do not dye, so oppose them." I have extracted it in "Takhrīj al-Ḥalāl wa-al-Ḥarām" (105).

- "When one of you is in the shade, and the shade withdraws from him, and part of him is in the sun and part in the shade, let him stand." It was recorded by Abū Dāwūd (4822) and al-Ḥumaydī in "al-Musnad" (1138) from the path of Sufyān, who said: Muḥammad ibn al-Munkadir told us—while he was leaning on my hand during the circumambulation—he said: Someone who heard Abū Hurayrah told me that Abū al-Qāsim (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is authentic except for the man who was not named, and some narrators omitted him from Ibn al-Munkadir, as Imām Aḥmad said (2/383): ʿAffān narrated to us, ʿAbd al-Wārith narrated to us, Muḥammad ibn al-Munkadir narrated from Abū Hurayrah as a marfūʿ narration. I said: This isnād is according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs, and ʿAbd al-Wārith is Ibn Saʿīd Abū ʿUbaydah
