Ibn Abī Muslim was narrated from by a group of trustworthy individuals other than his son Muḥammad, and Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt." He was followed by ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd ibn Bahrām, who narrated to me from Shahr, who said: I heard Asmāʾ bint Yazīd al-Anṣārīyyah narrate: "that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) passed through the mosque one day..." and the ḥadīth is similar. It was recorded by Aḥmad (6/452-453, 453, 457-458) and al-Bukhārī (1047). Abū Dāwūd (5204) recorded only the story of the greeting from it, as did al-Tirmidhī (2/117), al-Dārimī (2/277), and Ibn Mājah (7701). Al-Tirmidhī said: "This is a good ḥadīth. Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal said: There is no harm in the ḥadīth of ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd ibn Bahrām from Shahr ibn Ḥawshab..." There is also supporting evidence for them from the ḥadīth of Jarīr ibn ʿAbd Allāh. It was recorded by al-Baghawī in "Sharḥ al-Sunnah" (3/392 - Maktab version).

- "Abū Bakr and ʿUmar are the leaders of the elders of the people of Paradise from the first and the last."
