- "The son of a sister of a people is one of them." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī (6/431, 12/39), al-Nasāʾī (1/366), and al-Dārimī (2/243) through the route of Shuʿbah: Muʿāwiyah ibn Qurrah and Qatādah narrated from Anas who said: "The Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) invited the Anṣār and said: Is there anyone among you who is not from you? They said: No, except a son of our sister. So the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) mentioned it," and the context is from al-Bukhārī. It was also recorded by Muslim (2/106) and al-Tirmidhī (2/324, Būlāq edition). It has two other routes: the first is from Yazīd ibn Hārūn from Ḥumayd from Anas. The other is from Ḥammād ibn Salamah who said: Thābit informed us from him. Both were recorded by Aḥmad (4/201, 246) and both are authentic according to the conditions of Muslim. The ḥadīth has supporting narrations from a group of Companions, among them Abū Mūsá al-Ashʿarī. It was recorded by Abū Dāwūd (2/332-433) and Aḥmad (4/396) from ʿAwf from Ziyād ibn Mukhāriq from Abū Kinānah, elevated. Abū Kinānah is unknown, and it is said: He is Muʿāwiyah ibn Murrah, but it is not confirmed as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb," and the rest of the narrators are trustworthy. Among them is Jubayr ibn Muṭʿim. It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (1/39/1).
