Ḍumrah—meaning Anas ibn ʿIyāḍ al-Laythī—narrated to us from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn ʿUmar, from Wāqid ibn Salāmah, from al-Raqāshī Yazīd, from Anas in a marfūʿ manner, similar to it. It was also recorded by al-Dāmghānī, the jurist, in "al-Aḥādīth wa-al-Akhbār" (1/111/2) through another route from Abū Ḍumrah with it. I said: This isnād is weak. Yazīd, who is Ibn Abān, is weak, and Wāfid ibn Salāmah was mentioned by al-Bukhārī, al-ʿUqaylī, and Ibn al-Jārūd in "al-Ḍuʿafāʾ." Abū Muḥammad ibn Abī Ḥātim said about his father (4/2/50): "He narrates from al-Raqāshī, so what is said about him?!" Abū Muḥammad said: meaning that al-Raqāshī is not strong, so what is found in his ḥadīth of denouncement might be from Yazīd al-Raqāshī. I said: He is a righteous, devout man, and al-Sājī explained the reason for his weakness, saying: He would err and not memorize, and his ḥadīth is accepted due to his truthfulness and piety. Ibn ʿAdī said about him: He has sound ḥadīths from Anas and others, and I hope there is no harm in him due to the reliable narrators from him. I said: Someone like him may be used as supporting evidence, so when combined with the mursal that al-ʿUqaylī pointed to, it becomes valid for supporting evidence, and thus the ḥadīth reaches the grade of ḥasan, if Allāh wills.
