before a Day comes in which there will be no exchange, no friendship, and no intercession. And the disbelievers are the wrongdoers." (Al-Baqarah, 254). The affirmed intercession is that which is requested from Allāh, and the intercessor is honored with the intercession, and the one for whom intercession is made is the one whose word and deed Allāh is pleased with, after permission, as He, the Exalted, said: "Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission?" (Al-Baqarah, 255).
is that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) encountered people who were diverse in their worship; among them were those who worshiped the angels. And among them were those who worshiped the prophets and the righteous. And among them were those who worshiped trees and stones. And among them were those who worshiped the sun and the moon. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) fought them and did not differentiate between them. The evidence is His saying, the Exalted: "And fight them until there is no fitnah and the religion is entirely for Allāh." (Al-Anfāl, 39). The evidence for the sun and the moon is His saying, the Exalted: "And of His signs are the night and the day and the sun and the moon. Do not prostrate to the sun or to the moon, but prostrate to Allāh who created them, if it is Him that you worship." (Fuṣṣilat, 37). The evidence for the angels is His saying, the Exalted: "And He would not command you to take the angels and prophets as lords." (Āl ʿImrān, 80). The evidence for the prophets is His saying, the Exalted: "And [beware the Day] when Allāh will say, 'O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, "Take me and my mother as deities besides Allāh?"' He will say, 'Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen.'" (Al-Māʾidah, 116)
