al-Dhāriyāt (51:60) in one rakʿah, and al-Wāqiʿah (56:1-96), and al-Qalam (68:1-52) in one rakʿah, and Sūrat al-Maʿārij (70:1-44), and al-Nāziʿāt (79:1-46) in one rakʿah, and al-Muṭaffifīn (83:1-36), and ʿAbasa (80:1-42) in one rakʿah, and al-Muddaththir (74:1-56), and al-Muzzammil (73:1-20) in one rakʿah, and al-Insān (76:1-31), and al-Qiyāmah (75:1-40) in one rakʿah, and al-Nabaʾ (78:1-40), and al-Mursalāt (77:1-50) in one rakʿah, and al-Dukhān (44:1-59), and al-Takwīr (81:1-29) in one rakʿah (Muslim and al-Ṭaḥāwī). and sometimes he would combine the long sūrahs such as al-Baqarah, al-Nisāʾ, and Āl ʿImrān in one rakʿah during the night prayer, as will be mentioned, and he would say: "The best prayer is the long standing" (Abū Dāwūd and al-Bayhaqī with a sound isnād). and when he recited: "Is not He able to give life to the dead?" he would say: "Glory be to You, indeed," and when he recited "Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High," he would say: "Glory be to my Lord, the Most High."
