(al-Nasāʾī and al-Ḥākim) and he used to say: "Allāh has not revealed in the Torah or in the Gospel anything like the Mother of the Qurʾān, which is the seven oft-repeated [verses and the great Qurʾān that I have been given]." (al-Bukhārī) and he ordered (the one who performed his prayer incorrectly) to recite it in his prayer (Abū Dāwūd, Ibn Khuzaymah, al-Ḥākim, and others). and he said to the one who could not memorize it: "Say: 'Glory be to Allāh, and all praise is due to Allāh, and there is no deity but Allāh, and Allāh is the Greatest, and there is no power nor strength except with Allāh.'" (Abū Dāwūd and al-Tirmidhī, who graded it as ḥasan) and he said to the one who performed his prayer incorrectly: "If you have some Qurʾān with you, recite it; otherwise, praise Allāh, magnify Him, and declare His oneness." This abrogated the recitation behind the imam in audible prayers
(النسائي والحاكم) وكان يقول: (ما أنزل الله ﷿ في التوراة ولا في الإنجيل مثل أم القرآن وهي السبع المثاني [والقرآني العظيم الذي أوتيته] ). (البخاري) وأمر ﷺ (المسيء صلاته) أن يقرأ بها في صلاته (أبو داود وابن خزيمة والحاكم وغيرهم). وقال لمن لم يستطع حفظها: (قل سبحان الله والحمد لله ولا إله إلا الله والله أكبر ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله). (أبو داود والترمذي وحسنه) وقال للمسيئ صلاته: (فإن كان معك قرآن فاقرأ به وإلا فاحمد الله وكبره وهلله) نسخ القراءة وراء الإمام في الجهرية.
