"this one has rushed." Then he called him and said to him and others: (Aḥmad, Abū Dāwūd, and al-Ḥākim, who authenticated it, and al-Dhahabī agreed) "When one of you prays, let him begin by praising his Lord, the Glorious and Exalted, and extolling Him, then let him send blessings—in one narration: let him send blessings—upon the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), then let him supplicate as he wishes." And "he heard a man praying, and he extolled Allāh and praised Him and sent blessings upon the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), so the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: (al-Nasāʾī with a sound chain) 'Supplicate, and you will be answered; ask, and you will be given.'" The obligation of seeking refuge from four things before supplication
(عجل هذا) ثم دعاه فقال له ولغيره:(أحمد وأبو داود والحاكم وصححه ووافقه الذهبي) (إذا صلى أحدكم فليبدأ بتحميد ربه جل وعز والثناء عليه ثم يصلي وفي رواية: ليصل) على النبي ﷺ ثم يدعو بما شاء). و (سمع رجلا يصلي فمجد الله وحمده وصلى على النبي ﷺ فقال رسول الله ﷺ:(النسائي بسند صحيح) (ادع تجب وسل تعط). وجوب الاستعاذة من أربع قبل الدعاء.
