(Ibn Khuzaymah, Aḥmad, and al-Sirāj, authenticated by al-Ḥākim and agreed upon by al-Dhahabī) and he would say: "Indeed, the hands prostrate just as the face prostrates, so when one of you places his face [on the ground], let him place his hands, and when he raises [his face], let him raise them" (al-Bayhaqī with a sound isnād). and he would lean on his palms [and spread them], and he would join their fingers and direct them towards the qiblah (Abū Dāwūd and al-Nasāʾī with a sound isnād). and he would place them level with his shoulders (Abū Dāwūd and al-Tirmidhī). and sometimes level with his ears (Abū Dāwūd and al-Tirmidhī, authenticated by him and Ibn al-Mulaqqin). and he would firmly place his nose and forehead on the ground
(ابن خزيمة وأحمد والسراج وصححه الحاكم ووافقه الذهبي) وكان يقول: (إن اليدين تسجدان كما يسجد الوجه فإذا وضع أحدكم وجهه فليضع يديه وإذا رفع فليرفعهما) (البيهقي بسند صحيح). و (كان يعتمد على كفيه [ويبسطهما] ) . ويضم أصابعهما. ويوجهها قبل القبلة (أبو داود والنسائي بسند صحيح). و (كان يجعلهما حذو منكبيه) أبو داود والترمذي. وأحيانا (حذو أذنيه) (أبو داود والترمذي وصححه هو وابن الملقن). و (كان يمكن أنفه وجبهته من الأرض).
