the Most Great. Glory be to my Lord, the Most High. Allāh hears the one who praises Him. Our Lord, to You is due all praise. Greetings are for Allāh," and the saying of the one responding to the call: "Here I am, O Allāh, here I am," and similar expressions. Everything that Allāh has prescribed of remembrance is complete speech, not a single word, nor a noun, nor a pronoun. This is what is called in the language a "kalimah," as in His saying: "Two phrases that are light on the tongue, heavy on the scale, beloved to the Most Merciful: Glory be to Allāh and with His praise, Glory be to Allāh, the Most Great," and His saying: "The best phrase said by the poet is the phrase of Labīd: 'Indeed, everything besides Allāh is false.'" Among them is His saying, the Exalted, (al-Kahf, 5): "Grievous is the word that comes out of their mouths," and His saying (al-Anʿām, 115): "And the word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and in justice." And similar to that is the usage of the term "kalimah" in the Book and the sunnah, as well as in the rest of the Arabic language, for it refers to a complete sentence
